Ireland
The Temple Bar in Dublin is one of the most famous pubs in Dublin. It houses Ireland’s largest collection of fine whiskeys from around the world. I don’t drink hard liquor so another tourist attraction totally wasted on me.
This was a quick weekend trip. In on Friday and out by Sunday in order to get ready for work on Monday. I tell you work really got in the way of my travels. I am not complaining though. I loved my job at the time. But this was all I could fit in in two days.
Kilmainham Goal Prison is now a museum. Many Irish revolutionaries were imprisoned and executed in the prison by the British. The other two pictures are from the park where the statue of Oscar Wilde (below) is located. The statue is unique because of the smirk on his face. If you approach the statue from one side he appears to be smirking or smiling and approach it from the other side he appears to be sad or frowning. Oscar was known for writing The Importance of Being Earnest and the Story of Dorian Gray. I didn’t know that he was imprisoned for two years for homosexual behavior. The building there is part of the park but I have no idea of its significance. I just thought the flowers in the garden were beautiful.

Toastmasters of course!
